Hi, Everybody.
For a change, instead of giving you information, I'm going to be asking for some. I may know a lot about Trash Cinema, but I don't know everything, not by a long shot.
I looking to get a DVD of La Mala Ordina, the classic Fernando Di Leo Italian crime flick, but I don't know which DVD to get. There are three things that are really important to me:
- The DVD has an Italian language track and English subtitles. I absolutely loathe English dubbing.
- The film is not censored in any way from the original.
- The transfer quality is good.
- To a lesser extent, I'd really prefer to have a Region 1 DVD, so I don't have to mess around with programming my DVD player or getting a new one just to watch foreign language DVDs.
There are three versions of La Mala Ordina that I know of:
- La Mala Ordina - This is the Italian version, and it's in Region 2. Of course, it's in the original language and almost certainly has English subtitles. I would bet this also has reasonably good picture quality and is almost certainly the original picture without any edits. This is just an educated guess, of course. If anyone has information to the contrary, please let me know.
- Manhunt - This version of La Mala Ordina is put out by Synergy Entertainment and is in Region 1 format. Unfortunately, there is no information regarding whether or not an Italian language track and English subtitles are available.
- Black Kingpin - This version of La Mala Ordina is put out by Reel Classic Films and is in Region 1 format. Unfortunately, there is no information regarding whether or not an Italian language track and English subtitles are available.
- Hired To Kill - This last version of La Mala Ordina (at least I think it is, based on the product description) is put out by Trinity Home Entertainment and is in Region 1 format. Unfortunately, there is no information regarding whether or not an Italian language track and English subtitles are available.
If anyone knows anything about any of these versions, please let me know. Also, if any of these versions fit my requirements, please let me know that, too.
Thanks in advance for your help.
